As another year comes to a close, my inner design nerd and OCD freak rears its ugly head again. Yet again I’ve been delightfully, compulsively thrown into a month long search for this year’s planner and wall calendar. Like, really?… I’m PLANNING OUT MY PLANNERS! In retrospect, there are so many things throughout my life that should have indicated very early on that I was meant to be a graphic designer. A lifelong obsession with well designed planners and calendars being one of the most blatant examples. That being said, I’ve compiled a list of the top planners of 2016, for those of you who happen to know or be a freak like me.
1) This beautifully designed, minimalist daily/monthly/yearly planner by Julia Kostreva is at the top of my 2016 list. I love the simple cover and ample space for daily comments. This kind of thoughtful, trend aware yet ultimately timeless design is what I personally aspire to in my own work. I think I have a bit of a design nerd crush on Ms. Kostreva.
2) Rifle Paper Company is becoming quite the household name these days, with their beautifully illustrated paper goods popping up everywhere from Anthropologie to Target, and cool, new collaborations everywhere you look. The reason for this stationary takeover? Their eye catching colors and patterns are always a step ahead of the current design trends, with high quality to boot. A lifelong Toile Devotee, this pretty little planner is callin’ my name.
3) For quirky, yet well designed paper goods (and much, much more) head to Poketo. While you’re there, go ahead and pick up some stationary or desk items, and send ’em my way. K Thanks, bye.
4) Super Versatile, Super Basic. The Pattern A6 Weekly Planner V2 by MochiThings is a dateless weekly planner allowing you to set the dates yourself and begin your planner at any time in the year. Perfect for those of us who second guess their planner purchase a few months in. This planner contains a total of 56 pages, separated into 1 Intro page, 54 pages of Weekly Plans (27 weeks), and 1 page for your Personal Information. Plus, this one is the ultimate bargain.
